Mahamed Aly Secures Head Kick KO in MMA Debut
The MMA community just saw the debut of one of its most promising heavyweights. The 30-year-old Brazilian by the name of Mahamed Aly just competed at Paradigm Combat Sports, this Saturday, January 20th.
This development is relevant because Aly is none other than a multiple-time Worlds champion (gi and no-gi), and one of the most successful grapplers of the past ten years. Throughout his grappling career, the Lloid Irvin black belt competed in the highest level of the sport, competing against legends such as Leandro Lo, Rodolfo Vieira, Gordon Ryan, and Marcus Almeida.
BJJ Champion Scores Headkick KO
Despite his grappling background, Mahamed demonstrated versatility in various aspects of MMA during his debut. Facing the 17-year veteran “John Ott,” the Brazilian showcased comfort in both boxing and kickboxing ranges.
Video footage captures Aly executing precise teeps and impactful body shots, expertly maintaining distance. In a striking conclusion, the Brazilian sealed the bout with finesse, delivering a stunning knockout via a well-placed right high-kick.
After his fight, Mahamed Aly shared that he doesn’t just want to be known for grappling and finishing fights, even though he’s good at it.
“I want to show that I’m getting better in my striking. I want to throw a lot of elbows, a lot of knees, see some blood,” he said. “We saw some blood, but I wanted a little more.”
According to MMAFighting, Aly plans on building his pro-MMA career and becoming a UFC champion in 8 years. Given his physical attributes, BJJ skills, and growing striking expertise, Dana White best keep Aly on his radar.
